ReGen Pasture Grass Mix is a combination of proven perennial forage grasses and cover crops. It is an economical way to establish pasture AND improve soil health. How it works:
The cover crops in this mix include forage radish, turnip and annual ryegrass. They establish quickly early and help build a healthy soil biome. They are an co-friendly way to rapidly build soil nutrients and break-up compaction. Cover Crops are a good alternative to chemical fertilizers. . Cover Crops promote healthy soil biomes by providing a stable and healthy environment for beneficial soil “bugs”. The roots retain water and break up soil compaction. They establishes quickly and paves the way for more permanent crops. Cover Crops help maintain soil moisture by reducing evaporation.
The long lived grasses in this mix will come in like our other standard forage grass mixes. They are protected and enhanced by the cover crops. Once the pasture is established you can feed or pasture it, or you can cut and bale the growth.
The Cover Crops will die back, but they leave healthy biomass in the soils that enhance air circulation, water retention and water penetration. The perennial grasses will continue to grow and return year after year.
