Spring Small Grains
Spring Small Grains are planted in the spring and do not require winter vernalization.
Spring small grains are exactly what the name suggests – small grains that are planted in the spring and harvested in the succeeding summer. They typically have less cold tolerance than winter or facultative small grains. They do not require the winter vernalization of winter varieties for germination and establishment. One of the most common spring grains are Oats.
