FSG 430ST (Medicago sativa) was selected for improved germination tolerance and forage production under saline conditions. FSG 430ST produces high quality, fine stemmed hay and tolerates variable soil types. It is the next generation of salt tolerant alfalfa, use in place of FSG 423ST alfalfa. FSG 430ST is adapted to the Great Plains, North Central Region and the winterhardy Intermountain Region of the United States.
Salt Tolerant Alfalfa FSG 430ST (Medicago sativa) is the next generation salt tolerant alfalfa, selected for both improved germination tolerance and forage production under saline conditions. FSG 430ST Alfalfa gives producers the ability to manage soil salinity and increase profits across all acres by increasing forage quality and yield production.
FSG 430ST Alfalfa is recommended to use in place of the older FSG 423ST Alfalfa.
The vast majority of soils in the Great Basin province and Intermountain West are above 7 on the pH scale and high in salt. FSG 430ST (Medicago sativa) should find broad appeal in these areas. If you are considering a seed mixture or pasture, please visit our Salt and Alkali tolerant seed page for suggestions and help. Consider using Salt Tolerant FSG 430ST as a component of your mix.
